Wynken, Blynken and Nod

It was on a sunny Sunday in June when I painted this fountain on the Green in Wellsboro. The Green is a nice place in town with benches and lots of trees but it’s layout makes it challenging for a painter to capture the comfort of this park because there are also a lot of open spaces and traffic on two sides of it.  For plein air, I wasn’t going to do the whole park but at least I wanted to paint the fountain now that it was turned on.  I thought it would be quiet but somehow I missed the memo about the pet parade that was going to take place in town and the parade would end, you guessed it, on the Green. After an hour of painting, dogs and families flooded the Green. It was fun to see some of the costumes the pets and their owners were wearing and have people comment on my work.

Wellsboro photographer Robert J Blair also stopped by and took this picture of me:-)
