A House in the Country nr. 9 East view
16×20 oil on canvas
Every time I drive by my neighbor’s house, it begs me to paint it. I must have painted it at least 8 times from different angles. I just can’t resist the variety of materials and colors, the surrounding pine trees and shrubbery challenges. A couple of the pine trees fell down during a storm adding so much beautiful drama to the scene. While my poor neighbors are trying to get rid of the big dead trunks and cutting wood and hauling away branches, I’m quietly enjoying the scene behind my easel, feeling somewhat guilty. But I can’t help myself.
